London Titans 0 London Falcons 9
LUFL• Sunday, 21st October, 2007 • Old Deer Park
The match vs London Titans in the L.U.F.L. was a one sided affair with Falcons
bossing the game for 90 minutes to take top spot in the league.
Titans fielded what they were calling their 'social' side and Falcons started
with a side that had 4 players who started in that 4-1 demolition back in September.
Many of the players were rested, others out through injury and those that were
playing but not in this team were playing their L.U.F.L. match across the field
vs Romans. With Manchester looming in the GFSN, it was time to give some others
a chance to go out and impress and push for their positions in the first team.
Gary Britnell scored a hat-trick, Tony Kerr scoring twice vs his old team, Chase
Newton, Jamie Okaro, JP Kesseler and James Edeki made it 9-0. It could have been
more with a missed penalty and squandered chances.
Manager Craig Randall said "What was good to see what that for large periods
of the match we kept focussed and kept going. It's very easy to loose that focus
when you are 5-0 up, you start to get complacent and let things go, but we did
really well to keep going, play the game and score more goals.
I was impressed with Richard Cowell on his debut and also Jamie Okaro who played
right wing for this game. We are certainly getting a squad of players now who
can play multiple positions.
With a few games coming up before Manchester the game today was a great insight
into what the players can do, so really pleased and hope we can keep this run
of good form going."
