League Policies and Arrangements

Rules
• The prevailing laws for the 11-a-side game to be apply with only minor changes for rolling substitutions [see our Rules page].
• It is the responsibility of all players to ensure they read and understand these rules in advance.

Misconduct
Referees may issue yellow and red cards, with the following sanctions to be applied:
• On receiving a red card the player leaves the field [player given one match ban].
• On receiving two yellow cards in the same match the player receives a red card and leaves the field [player given one match ban].
• On receiving two yellow cards in one season [player given one match ban].
• Bans apply to the next league game played by that team.

Referees
• Matches to be refereed by a qualified referee identified by the home team.
• If the services of a qualified referee cannot be secured, a comptetent volunteer may be used with the prior approval of both teams and the league secretary.
• Teams are to identify referee training opportunities, with a view to each region having a least one qualified referee in subsequent seasons.
• Referees are to be fully conversant with our rules and will also recieve a copy of our 'referees guidance' sheet.

Pitches
• As this is a grass league - the home team should book a suitable grass pitch for each fixture.
• If the weather gives cause for concern, an alternative all-weather pitch should be booked as a contingency but may be cancelled in advance to avoid undue costs.

Costs
• The costs of hosting a game (these being pitch hire, changing facilities and referees) to be met entirely by the home team, the burden of travel costs falling to the visiting team.
• The cost of providing refreshments or buffet may be collected fairly from all home and away players and supporters.

Non-Fulfillment
• Where a team cannot turn up with 11 players they should seek postponement of the game at least one week in advance.
• Where a team arrives on the day with less than 11 players, individuals may be borrowed from the other team to ensure an 11 v 11 match takes place - players must not be coerced into switching teams.
• If an away team fails to turn up for a fixture without any notice, the team will be deducted 3 points and will be liable for all the costs incurred by the home team organisers. In this case the home team to be awarded a 3-0 home win (3 points plus 3 goals)
